Travel Day November 6th, 2021
Long day of Travel!
Today our team of seven left their homes at various different early hours of the am to begin the journey to Honduras. The team from MKE got the earliest start leaving home at 2am to catch a 6am flight out of Chicago. All travel went well without any hiccups. The rest of the team were coming from Indiana and Florida and we all met in Houston. Houston to Tegucigalpa flights again went smoothly with no weather issues and we landed slightly ahead of schedule. Customs and immigration took a while, but went smoothly. In true Honduran style we changed money with a guy name “Charly” who happened to be on the path outside of the airport. We met with our translators and team for the week and got in the vans and drove to lunch. Our lunch today was at the Pollo Supreme - super yummy food. We then headed to the mission house to off load our luggage and clean up a bit.
The team got a chance to head out and do a little sight seeing. Our translators took us up to the Christ Statue. It’s always good to see the amazing view of Tegucigalpa from up there. So today was a travel day and tomorrow we get up bright and early again and hit the road by 5am. We have about an 8 hour drive to get to Tocoa. So the team is looking forward to sleep tonight and excited to get the week started! Prayers for a safe drive tomorrow and the team gets some rest tonight!
