We do have fun!

A little comic relief and no Mike was not “lost”.

Today was a little bit of a chill day as we were prepped and ready to receive the team tonight.  We did a little exploring and then headed back to the hotel to get cleaned up to go over to Pastor Orlin and Lorenas house for dinner tonight.  It has been wonderful getting to know them a little more this trip.  Mike was fairly confident he knew which way to go and about 30 minutes before we left it just started pouring and the roads quickly flooded.  There is no where for the water to drain into so it just stands on the road.  A lot of roads are dirt roads so lots of pot holes etc.  We turned down the dirt road to go towards the house and we were told to turn right at the soccer field.  We turned right and after the soccer field and then it all fell apart.  We drove up and down dirt roads that were flooded and could not find where we were going!  We drove around for 20 minutes or before we finally pulled over and called Lorena.  After trying to explain where we were and we gave her a landmark - Pastor Orlin came to the rescue.  It’s not a very interesting story but it sure was very funny with lots of laughing in the truck. Mostly at Mikes’ expense - sorry Mike!  And we have the videos for reference later!

Missions are for helping folks and building relationships but they are also so much more than that.  If you can’t have fun doing it than that isn’t good.  We have fun, we laugh, we cry, we are tired, but we love it and we keep coming back.

The team finally arrived tonight after a long long day of driving. They were all so tired, but in good spirits and ready to go to sleep!  I’m looking forward to getting to know them all tomorrow and throughout the week and working with them.

Crazy river run through the roads!
